Jack Reacher: Never Go Back

Based on the novel by Lee Child, Never Go Back, Tom Cruise reprises his role as Jack Reacher, an ex-military police turned vigilante. It is the sequel to the first Jack Reacher film which was released in 2012. Reacher gets involved with Army Major Susan Turner (Cobie Smulders) who has been framed for espionage. Reacher has also been framed for murder. They team up to find out who is behind these false accusations. And the kicker, Reacher finds out that he might be the father of a 16year old girl. Sounds interesting right, well not quite, if you have seen the Mission:Impossible series then you know the Jack Reacher films are just average.
Jack Reacher: Never Go Back is not as good as the first Jack Reacher either. The plot and the action is passable. But Cruise as always gives us a 100%, I mean he's 54, but the guy sure did a lot of running in this film. And Smulders, who plays Maria Hill in the marvel franchise, was brilliant. The downside about the film is that it lacks a very "unforgettable" bad guy. We have Robert Knepper (plays T-bag in prison break) who plays General Harkness, a defense contractor. He's the bad guy but is barely utilised. Then there's Patrick Heusinger (the hunter) who is the henchman and trust me, he's not worth remembering.
But overall, if you just want to see Tom Cruise kick ass while awaiting the next Mission:Impossible movie, then Jack Reacher:Never Go Back is the one.
