This movie is a fantasy adventure and it begins with Jake (Asa Butterfield) a lonely teenager whose grandfather, Abe (Terence Stamp) told him stories about a home for peculiar children. Their guardian Miss Peregrine (Eva Green) being a "ymbrine" could manipulate time and could also change to a falcon. Jake gets to meet them and discovers that he too has "peculiar powers" which could save his new friends from other evil peculiars led by Barron (Samuel L. Jackson) who wanted to capture these children and eat their eyes and gain immortality by experimenting with a "ymbrine".
At times it was boring and confusing but overall it was enjoyable. It had a few holes too, take for instance, Barron and his ilk have pale eyes and Barron, who has the ability to change to other people can only mask his pale eyes with contact lens. At the show down scene with Jake, Barron changed to Jake to confuse everyone but where did he get the contact lens from?
Anyway take some time to have an adventure with this movie.
