I want you back"
Okay! So I didn't care what critics had to say about the film Fifty Shades of Grey, I loved it and after much anticipation, the sequel Fifty Shades Darker is finally here. With the prequel Fifty Shades Freed set to be released early next year. Gone are director Sam Taylor-Johnson and screen writer Kelly Marcell and replaced by James Foley and Niall Leonard respectively.
It's been three weeks since Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson) ended her relationship with Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan) but a restless Christian wants her back. With no rules, no punishment and no more secrets, they resume their relationship. So we have more sex (vanilla style), more talk, a lecherous boss, an ex-submissive stalking them, a jealous "Mrs Robinson" disapproving of their relationship and a helicopter crash, all of which sums up the film.
Am so disappointed. Where is the intrigue and the darker side of Christian as the title depicted. It was just two hours of lukewarm romantic drama. Anastasia threw a glass of wine on 'Mrs Robinson' (Kim Basinger) and there was no cat-fight, not even a show of anger. Leila (Bella Heathcote), the former submissive waves a gun around and there's barely any tension.
Bottom line, am not holding my breath for the prequel. Hope you enjoy this film though. Laters.
