So if you have seen the Ocean's trilogy, then you know Ocean's Eight is practically the same thing; a heist film but with an all female cast. It seems that the Ocean family has a thing for planning a heist because the main character, Debbie Ocean (Sandra Bullock) is Danny Ocean's sister, oh! and apparently in this film Danny is dead (George Clooney why!!!).
Anyways, Debbie and her best friend Lou (Cate Blanchett) recruit an all female team to steal a very expensive cartier diamond necklace during the Met gala. So like I stated earlier, if you have seen the Ocean's trilogy, you know the conclusion of this film.
I enjoyed Ocean's Eight, loved the all female cast which was actually what got me excited to see this film. They all played their roles beautifully especially Anne Hathway, who was the life of the party. But I felt like it was on autopilot, everything fell into place perfectly and easy. All you have to do is sit back and enjoy the fashion, jewellery, celebrity cameos, a few jokes and the twists and turns of the heist. The end of the film was rushed with subplots and new characters introduced to fix the holes in the storyline. There were even scenes I expected George Clooney's character to make an appearance (wishful thinking).
Anyways, Ocean's Eight stays true to the Ocean's franchise so enjoy the ride. Laterz
