Venom, Venom…
it was a fun ride while it lasted. There was action, humor; cast performance
was good and it was apparent that Tom Hardy really enjoyed playing the role of
Eddie Brock/Venom but even with all that Venom was soo directionless and
chaotic. In short, it had no purpose.
I don’t hate the movie but while
watching it, I missed Spiderman’s presence. I remember when I was younger every
time I read a Spiderman comic book with venom in it I got scared because he was
one of Spidey’s toughest adversaries.
I applaud the idea to make Venom
a standalone movie but let’s face it there is no Venom without Spiderman. With all
the decapitations and strong language I think the writers were confused whether
to turn Venom into a Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) Movie or a Deadpool
lookalike.
There is hope yet for our
anti-hero as there might be a future crossover between Venom and Spiderman and
am glad because I don’t think Venom would do well as a standalone
movie franchise.
Check out Venom at your nearest
cinema if for no reason but to see him eat a few human heads (lol) laterz.
