Bad times at the El Royale is about four strangers who arrive
at a hotel on the California-Nevada border. They all have something mysterious
about them including the sole employee of the hotel and the hotel itself. That’s
the draw of the movie; the story behind all the characters and how they tie to
the first scene of the movie where a man is seen hiding a bag under the floor
boards in a room. An intriguing storyline, a cast that portrayed their
characters beautifully, sweet oldies, a slow buildup that had me sitting at the
edge of my seat waiting for the climax but boy was I disappointed. I had the wind knocked out of my sails and instead of a WHAT!!! or an OMG!!! there's just this feeling of 'Oh! Okay thank God its over'.
At the point when
Chris Hemsworth’s character came into the picture everything just went off; I lost
that the anticipation and was so happy when the end credits rolled out.
Bad times at the El Royale didn’t take
its intriguing vibe to the very end but it’s still worth watching and to see
Chris Hemsworth shirtless. Laterz
