Alita: Battle Angel

Alita: Battle Angel is a futuristic manga action film which took about 20years to be made and the result is kind of worth the wait; it started out great got muddled in the middle and ended with a promise of a sequel.

The first scene got me hooked: Dr. Dyson Ido (Christopher Waltz) is seen looking through scrapes in a scrapyard but suddenly he notices something and it’s a head. He brings out a gadget from his bag which scans the head and his words were “your alive”. And am wondering why is he fascinated about that head, how come its alive and why does the head look kind of human?

Going further into the film, I got my answers and was thrilled by the whole effects (they were seriously badass), the futuristic setting but the plot had a few loopholes and a weak climax. Hopefully the sequel will iron out the rough edges in the plot.
The director Robert Rodriguez did a great job and of course James Cameron who, who is one of the producers and the screenwriter. I always enjoy his technological vision and patience in making a film.

I like the fact that a not well know actor was chosen to play the lead character Alita (Rosa Salazar) and she did very well although its not her face seen in the film but a CGI generated one. Waltz was brilliant as Dr. Ido but as a warrior hunter not so much because he looked so awkward carrying that huge weapon-like axe.

Alita: Battle Angel is great but please see it in 3D in a cinema or a big ass tv. Laterz
