Avengers: Endgame - A Record Breaker

Avengers: Endgame is finally here and I have seen it twice. After 11years and now 22 films, it was bittersweet for me but I didn’t shed any tears because it’s a celebration of a legacy.

This is might be the last time we will see the Avengers, a reboot may happen in the future but there will be some big shoes to fill as I can’t see anyone play the roles of our MCU Superheroes the way the cast did to perfection except maybe Captain Marvel.

Anyways, Scott Lang who was trapped in the quantum realm at the end of Ant-Man and the Wasp is suddenly “released” and discovers that the five hours he spent in the quantum realm was actually five years in the real world after the events of Avengers: Infinity War. Lang approaches the remaining members of the Avengers with an idea to go back in time to steal the infinity stones and bring back those that they had lost.

With a team assembled to execute the “time heist” and the rule of not  altering anything in the past, they accomplish their mission but going back in time has repercussions and that came in form of Thanos ready to fight to preserve what he had done.

Avengers: Endgame had its usual humour (most surprising from Captain America), emotional scenes, heroic stance, and of course, the last cameo of Stan Lee (RIP).

It wasn’t without some holes in its plot like why Nebula chose to try to make contact with the rest of the team instead of just leaving Morag after she experienced her ‘memory spell’? How “past nebula” got to the future when she gave her Pym particle to Thanos? How did Thanos guide his ship to the future without a gps tracker?

I don’t even want to get started on Captain America’s solo assignment of returning the stones (I really wonder about that soul stone though) and his decision to stay in the past.

I could spend the whole day just writing about the plot holes but it is truly irrelevant as it won’t change the fact that the Russo brothers did an amazing job and at three hours long Avengers: Endgame is one of the best finales of a franchise. Laterz
